“Long Island’s Beautiful Barn”

So here’s an amazing converted barn I came across. It was featured on the elledecor.com website and I felt I should share it on here. Its situated on Long Island, New York and the owners use it as a weekend get-away home.. Lucky for some! The building has two small outhouses, one used as a guest house, the other a pool house. The house itself is full of beautiful original features throughout with a few modern twists, and I love it all! The barn is 110 years old, but looks great for its age! (Click on images to enlarge).
Here’s the exterior of the property. It doesn’t so much look like a barn, more a country house. It’s got beautiful big windows throughout to bring plenty of natural light into the building.
One unusual aspect of this property is that it features a hayloft. It’s a very cosy room with lots of character. It’s a very good use of space, converting the loft and turning it into a well used room. I love the original roof and the green iron windows.
This is the other main seating area. Its got similar characteristics to the loft. I really like the low ceiling. I love loads of the items in this room, but like the tripod style floor lamp the most.
The kitchen in this home is very nicely designed. I love all the original features you can see in this room, such as the ceiling with the exposed roof beams, and the door to nowhere up on the wall. I really like the island design for a kitchen, and having the sink and appliances built into it. It’s got a very nice white granite worktop too.
There’s a small seating area in the kitchen that you can see below. I love all the old detail in the wall, and especially like that lamp shade!
Here’s the other dining area. It’s an amazing room. It’s very spacious, and very bright. The huge windows are a great feature, along with the metal and wood staircase. My favourite feature is definitely the large brick fireplace.
This is the master bedroom. Nothing too exciting, but still a nice bright room. Although, it doesn’t exactly look that spacious for a master bedroom.
This bedroom is inside the guesthouse. Its my absolute favourite room in this property. The obvious feature is the extremely unusual, but amazing, bed. I love the frame and interesting shapes. I love the ceiling in this room too and the old look it has about it.
This is the master bathroom in this property. I really like the sloping roof, and the spacious and bright shower area. The slate tiled flooring is a very nice touch.
This property has a very nice garden with it. It features a swimming pool, and lots of trees. Here are a couple of photos of the garden areas.
